So how can CERT help me?
If you export and sell products to the European Union (EU) and are resident outside the EU, you will need market representation. The same applies for the United Kingdom (UK).
From 16 July 2021 the EU market is also bringing in the new Market Surveillance Regulation, so if you sell products into the EU/EEA without using an importer or fulfilment service provider, you will need local market representation. This means you will no longer be able to sell products online abroad and then ship the product directly to the consumer in the EU/EEA markets without local market representation.
Fortunately we can offer a solution to this challenge!
Authorised Representation can be simply setup in 4 steps:

- Acting as your official point of contact for market surveillance authorities.
- Allow you access to the market, no matter where your business is located.
- We represent you on your behalf for all legal issues pertaining to your product.
- With technical skilled staff in the local market, we can address any requests for technical file information requested from market authorities while protecting your intellectual property and business interest.
- Whether you have a single product or a variety of products, we verify that your product meets all relevant market requirements, allowing a smooth market entry without legal complications.
- Shorter time to access any market.
- We do not tie you to any sales platforms, distribution or warehousing services, so you keep ownership of your product and maintain control of your distribution.
- There are no long-term costs incurred i.e., all we ask for is one months’ notice. We appreciate in exporting, you need to have a changeable product matrix. Locking products into plans can get expensive if you need to change products.
- The service is deliberately split into two stages to keep the costs to a minimum.
- Our skilled team has the capacity to guide you and assess digitally no matter where you are located.
- We monitor and report on any new developments in product legislation for your intended markets.
- Your products are screened by our experts for safety and technical compliance for your intended markets, providing you with assurance of your product suitability.
- Avoidance of technical and legal delays.
- As our core business is regulatory and technical support, you can rest assured that your product will be compliant for the markets you are selling into.
- In-house documentation support if you need it. Examples being Ingredient or Formulation Assessments, Safety Data Sheets or Cosmetic Product Safety Reports…
- A tailored service that meets your business needs.
- A quick simple setup process as per the demonstration video, where we use a secure online facility to collate, share and review information for your products.
- You can benefit from our industry experience in creating efficient Product Information Files, using an industry proven clear structured filing process.
- If you don’t want the administration and fixed costs of running a separate EU/UK business entity, then we can offer you a flexible representation service that is scalable with your business needs.
If you need a quick, simple, cost-effective solution that does not interfere with your existing shipping and distribution. Then we recommend you get in contact, so we can map out and implement a solution that works for you.
